7 Ball Flash, again

I made two 7-ball flashes today.  So, that means I’ve made three 7-ball flashes since the dawn of time.  I’ve been working on 6-ball in 7-pattern since the last 7-ball flash I made and it’s really helping to get comfortable with 7.  It’s really tiring.  But it’s the only exercise I’m getting these days, so it’s good.

I’m almost qualifying the 6-ball in 7-pattern, but after I make the first 6 catches, then try to throw them up again, I’m just overwhealmed with balls in the sky and I just lose it.  I just can’t track that many at once yet.  Probably because the throws aren’t perfect, and it just looks like a mess.  But as far as flashing, I "get" it.  I’m thinking I’ll just go back and forth between  practicing 7-ball flash, and 6-ball-in-7-pattern qualify.  Each one seems to help the other.

t-day??? You’ll have to email me and remind me… oh, wait, something about that Fashion Mall or whatever it was called? Hmm…. t…. can’t remember!

I’m not anywhere near in your league, but I have to announce that I did a 4 ball asynchronous fountain today for about 12 catches. It’s nothing compared to 5 objects let alone a 7 ball flash, but hey, I’m making some progress.

Cool! Now I want to work on the fountain! I really want to get to where I can do 534, and figured learning 53 (the asynch fountain) will be the first step.

Glad to hear about the accomplishment! And I’m sure you are in my league ;-) You can probably do 53 better than I can!

Or, wait… were you doing 53? Or maybe more like 71? I’m usually not drawn to working on any pattern with a 1 in it. I like to throw things “up” not “over”.

Uh, wait a minute, I’m getting “fountain” mixed up with “shower”. How do you do an “asynch fountain”? Are you maybe doing 55550?

  6. Dedwarmo Says:

I did 4 balls asynchronous. (4,4) Until then I could only do 4 balls synchronous. I think a fountain is when you have an even number of objects and the objects don’t cross to the other hand. I think a shower is when one hand does all the throwing and the other hand does all the catching.

I say synchronous when I throw two balls up at the same time and then I throw the next two balls up and catch the first two at the same time. Asynchronous is when the left and and right hand are out of sync. This cannot be done with an odd number of balls.

    Sure it can ;-)

I know what you mean, though. It can’t be done with odd number in a symmetrical basic pattern.

  9. Dedwarmo Says:

Cool. I’ve seen that pattern before, but I never watched closely enough to see that it was an odd number of props with synchronous throws.

say…every time i pass by an Olive Garden I think of you ;)
